Refund Policy

Last updated: 6 September 2026

inboxctl has not been publicly released and purchases are not yet available. This is the planned policy for sales when they begin.

1. Try before you buy

A trial is planned so that you can check inboxctl on your machine before buying a licence. Its availability and any limits will be stated with the released build.

2. General policy

A licence is a one-time purchase of digital content that is delivered immediately by e-mail. Once your licence has been delivered, the purchase is subject to this policy. Refunds are generally not issued except as described below or required by law.

3. Exceptions

I will normally refund when:

  • you were charged twice, or bought the same licence twice by mistake;
  • your licence never arrived and I could not deliver it to you;
  • the Software has a defect that stops it from working on a supported system and I cannot fix it for you in reasonable time;
  • the purchase was clearly accidental or unauthorised.

Outside those cases, you are still welcome to write. Every request is read by a person and decided on its merits.

4. How to request a refund

E-mail hello@inboxctl.com within 30 days of purchase for a discretionary refund, from the address used at checkout, and include your order or receipt number and a short description of the problem. I aim to reply within 3 business days. The 30-day request window does not limit statutory claims.

Approved refunds are returned through Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, the Merchant of Record for the sale, to the original payment method. It typically takes 3 to 10 business days for the funds to reach you, depending on your bank or card issuer. Refunded licences are deactivated.

5. Refunds handled by the Merchant of Record

Because the sale is made through Stripe Managed Payments, you can also take a payment problem to Link at support.link.com, without going through me first. Link handles payment and billing questions, and may refund a purchase within 60 days on its own authority, including where I am slow to respond or where a refund avoids a chargeback. That is a decision I do not control, and it can go your way even where this policy says a refund would not normally be issued. Questions about inboxctl features or technical problems should come to me.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have by law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content. That right is lost only where all legal conditions are met, including your prior express consent to immediate supply, your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal, and confirmation of the agreement on a durable medium. Receiving a licence alone does not waive that right. You also retain your statutory rights in respect of digital content that is faulty or not as described.
